I Hate Politics: Was Bill Clinton the Greatest Republican President Ever?

I voted for Bill Clinton twice. Seemed like a good idea at the time. But now, looking back on his policies and the major decisions made during his terms, I'm thinking conservatives and Republicans were pretty happy with 1992-2000:

  • Omnibus Crime Bill: locked up millions of Black, Brown and poor people in the name of keeping America safe from crime
  • Welfare "Reform": Kicked millions of needy people off of public assistance, including single mothers will children
  • Wall Street "Reform": Giving financial companies the power to turn themselves into casinos by erasing the separation between banks and investment houses
  • Telecommunications Act of 1996: Allowing corporations to take over and consolidate America's radio and TV networks so a few can profit while destroying American popular culture
  • "Don't Ask, Don't Tell": Officially trapping homosexual soldiers in the closet in the name of "compromise"

Clinton, like Reagan, knew you had to deliver your politics with a smile. Both of these Presidents were masters of moving emotions, and they knew how to use their talents to give the powerful more power and more riches to the rich.
