I’ve only recently heard the term “Yacht Rock” being used to describe the kind of polished, MoR Pop that dominated FM radio from the late ‘70s to early ‘90s. The album from Australian artist S U R F I N G uses the sound as inspiration for a new kind of electronic dreamscape mood music. Fans of Washed Out will notice the similarities right away.
